First native erucic free variety of winter mustard Snezhinka was created by VNIIMK breeders by means of interspecific hybridization of high erucic winter mustard Sarepskaya (el. 7645). with erucic free spring mustard with further multiple individual selections. In competitive trials of VNIIMK in 2000-2001 Snezhinka exceeded Suzdal-skaya variety which is used as a standard control-variety on seed yield in 0.28 t/ha and oil yield in 100 kg/ha. Snezhinka is erucic free variety with erucic acid content - 1.5% and oleic acid content - 45% in oil in comparison with Suzdalskaya (as a control). which has 36.2% erucic acid content in oil.
