The author assumes that an effective way of mastering foreign language communicative competence by medical professionals in a short time today is content-language integrated learning (CLIL). In our opinion, the use of content-language integrated learning (CLIL) allows future specialists whose profession is not related to a foreign language to learn how to use it to achieve professional goals, and not study as a system, without practical use. Having described the didactic potential of the technology of content-language integrated learning, we have developed a model of content-language integrated learning of a foreign language to medical students, described the pedagogical conditions for increasing the efficiency of the process of forming foreign language communicative competence using CLIL technology and this model. The results obtained allow us to state that subject-language integrated learning contributes to the mastery of the foreign language communicative competence prescribed in the Federal State Educational Standard (Federal State Standard) in the conditions of an insufficient amount of time allotted to the discipline "foreign language" in a non-linguistic university and the requirements for the practical use of a foreign language.
