This paper tries to show the Platonic tendency in Russian psychology of the late 19th century. Snegirev applies in his course of psychology the doctrine of the soul of Plato, the Christian patristic heritage, as well as current philosophical literature. The article provides a brief religious and philosophical context of Russian psychology at the turn of the 19-20 century and examines the features and main aspects of psychology, understood as "soul science".
