This article examines the institution of mediation in the Russian Federation, as well as the existing problems of its integration into the legal system of the Russian Federation. The positive and negative aspects of mediation were assessed. A comparison is made of the institution of mediation in the Russian Federation and foreign countries. Historical information is provided.
