"То winners and losers": the epoch of civil confrontation in Kuban and in the Black Sea region in the objects of cultural heritage

Бесплатный доступ

The author presents the data of state accounting applied to objects of cultural heritage, directly or indirectly related to the era of the civil confrontation in the Kuban and Black Sea regions (1917-1922). The description and circumstances of their involvement in the events and biographies of historical personalities of that time are given. The dramatic events that took place in the region during the Russian Civil War were interpreted in Soviet times under the influence of prevailing ideological stereotypes. The author reveals a number of distortions of historical facts made in the Soviet period for ideological reasons. In the post-Soviet period, the emphasis in understanding the revolutionary events in the region sometimes changes to diametrically opposite, which is demonstrated not only by the ambiguity of assessments, but also by the profound tragedy of the events of the Civil War in Kuban, the material evidence of which are the objects of cultural heritage that have survived into modern times.
