The article contains the preliminary results of soil-archaeological research at the Kochkari I site of the Mesolithic (the main complex) and the Bronze Age located in the Samara Volga region. The article deals with the archaeological object, its cultural affiliation, and soil characteristics. The soil analysis included morphological studies, analysis of physical and chemical properties of modern soils and archaeological cultural layers. The study was also based on paleobotanic methods.
