The article presents the analysis of the translation of the poem «Lady Geraldine’s Courtship» by Elizabeth Barrett Browning, done by the translator M.S.Trubetzkaya in 1911. To carry out the comparative analysis some contemporary fragmentary translations have been used, done by V.K.Sarishvily and V.L. Toporov in 2009. The possibilities of «Lady Geraldine’s Courtship» influence on Edgar Poe’s literary work while his writing the famous poem “The Raven” have been considered.
