K. Sluchevsky's poem “Eloah” in the context of demonological myth

K.К. Sluchevsky's poem “Eloah” is considered in the aspect of treatment to demonological myth, formed on the basis of biblical texts, its main interpretations in Russian poetry of the 19th century, as well as in the context of the world of Fyodor Dostoevsky. This approach allows us to identify the relation of tradition and innovation in the poem by K.К. Sluchevsky, its basic idea and role of the myth in the creation of the author's work of art. The author concludes that retreating from the Russian romantic tradition of image genesis suffering from demonic hero, as well as prevailing in the turn of the century the concept of the dual nature of good and evil, Sluchevsky in the final of poem appeals to the New Testament of the Christian idea of an irreconcilable struggle against good and evil in the world and the final victory of one of them, emphasizing of man's role in the result of this buttle.
