The article provides a comparative analysis of two women’s poetic messages addressed to P.A. Vyazemsky: “To Prince P.A. Vyazemsky on the death of his daughter” by Z.A. Volkonskaya (1835) and “To P.A. Vyazemsky (upon receiving a portrait)” by A.I. Gotovtseva (1837), taking into account a set of factors that both bring together and separate the semantic content and poetics of these poems. It is shown that the roll call of these poems is largely determined not only by the unity of the addressee and the genre, but also by the development of a common theme of irreparable loss. It is noted that the poems of Gotovtseva and Volkonskaya are also related by the shrillness of female lyricism: they are brought together by the communicative strategy implemented by the authors, motivated by the desire of the poetesses mothers to express their sympathy with the utmost sincerity to Vyazemsky the father, who buried his daughter, to console him. At the same time, the article proves that these messages show striking differences motivated by the context of personal and creative relationships between Volkonskaya and Gotovtseva with Vyazemsky, as well as the features of the creative individuality of contemporary poetesses, the peculiarities of their worldview. It is concluded that the poem by the Kostroma poetess Gotovtseva is a deep and sincere voice coming from the depths of provincial Russia. The message of Volkonskaya, who actively communicated with Mickiewicz, Goethe, Stendhal and other luminaries of Western art, who created at the crossroads of culture, largely shows commitment to the axiology characteristic of human consciousness.
