It shows the construction principles of the anthroponymic system and its functioning in the modern Mordovian novel. It defines the role of the name as an essential component of the poetics of the image and constructive factor of the artistic unity. Based on onomastic material it gives the specifics of the individual style of the writer and conceptual originality of the author’s view of the world.
