The poetics of "The legend how Padun fell in love with Angara" by Michail Khoninov

There is regarded the poetics of the poem by Kalmyk poet Michail Khoninov «The Legend how Padun fell in love with Angara» (1970-1979). It is analyzed in the aspect of combination of folklore and industrial motives. The plot of the Buryat legend about the Angara and the Enisei`s love is inverted in the poem as the author`s interpretation of Padun`s unrequited love to Angara. The use of modern aspect in the text is explained by the theme of HPP construction on the South Siberia`s rivers, the eagerness of the Аngara and the Enisei to be helpful to people, by the author`s travel to Tyumen region in 1970. «The Legend…» consists of two parts, grouped by quatrains. The Kalmyk component of writing is oriented on the national system of verification, such artistic and visual means as anaphora, alliteration, assonance, epithet, metaphor, rhyme, cross rhyming, personification.
