The poetics of gesture in literary works (remarks and comments)

Gesture as a cultural universal and various aspects of this issue is the subject which is rather vast and popular among researchers, as well as poetics of gesture in literary work, to which special collection "Word and gesture in literature" is devoted. The most important functions of the literary work research are: 1) gesture is always a sign and a symbol; 2) communicative gesture function; 3) discussion of gesture functions in verbal work is impossible without touching upon the characteristics of narrative structure of the work. Conclusion: Markedness of gestures in the imaginative structure of a novel, their relationship with the most important ontological problems of life and death actually gives them the status of mental events as changes in " inner situation of one or another character."
