The relevance of the research topic is due to the expediency of improving the professional skills of law enforcement officers by means of speech training. The correct selection of methods for evaluating the results of the development of professional speech competence of future law enforcement officers depends on the clarity of the selected indicators and the criteria for their evaluation. The article gives the author’s definition of the concept of “professional speech competence of law higher education institutions students”. On the basis of which the criteria for determining the level of professional speech competence of students are developed and presented. There are a set of professional knowledge implemented on the basis of formed communicative competencies; interpersonal communicative interaction, the ability to introspection, self-knowledge. The novelty and significance of the result obtained lies in the fact that these indicators and levels are used against the background of a complex of organizational and pedagogical conditions for the development of professional speech competence of future lawyers (creation of communicative situations of professional speech communication, implementation of the program of the discipline “Culture of speech of a lawyer”, the use of remote technologies).
