The prospective study involved 127 pregnant women - 74 women whose pregnancy was not complicated by preeclampsia, 50 pregnant women with mild preeclampsia, 3 patients with severe preeclampsia; the dynamics of red blood values and iron metabolism were analyzed. If pregnancy is not complicated by preeclampsia, the third trimester shows the decrease of red blood cells (erythrocytes, hemoglobin, hematocrit) with the development of compensatory reticulocyte response, mainly due to a physiological hemodilution and the development of iron deficiency states. With the development of preeclampsia, we can observe the inhibition of erythropoiesis with the impairment of iron metabolism (formation of the redistribution of iron deficiency) without the development of pronounced anemia syndrome.
