Indices of red blood of pregnant women with iron-deficiency anemia by the treatment with the preparations of ferrous and ferric iron

We studied 77 pregnant women with iron-deficiency anemia, 48 of them were administered the preparation of ferrous iron Sorbifer and 29 - the preparation of ferric iron Ferlatum. 20 women with physiological course of pregnancy composed the control group. We analyzed parameters of red blood, indices of acid eryt-hrograms and erythrocyte's consumption taking into consideration the therapy with iron-preparation of different valency. It was determined that iron deficiency anemia is accompanied by the disturbance of structural metabolic status of red blood cells and intensity of erythropoiesis. The treatment of iron-deficiency anemia in pregnant women by means of Fe(III) Ferlatum appeared to be more effective in the restoration of red blood indices than the treatment of anemia by the preparation Fe(II) Sorbifer.
