Multicultural competence of a higher education teacher in the perceptions of foreign students

The concepts of “multiculturalism” and “multicultural educational environment” are considered. The relevance of the study is substantiated, the structure and main indicators of the manifestation of multicultural competence of higher education teachers are allowed. The relationship between the multicultural competence of teachers and the adaptation of foreign students to the conditions of education in the Russian Federation is indicated. A study was conducted, presented by foreign students on the multicultural competence of the teacher. The interpretation of the research results is carried out in ten identified components of multicultural competence (cognitive, motivational-value and activity). It was revealed that, according to the ideas of foreign students, teachers have insufficient knowledge of the peculiarities of their culture. A conclusion is made about the need to develop and implement a strategy to improve the multicultural competence of teachers in the educational environment.
