The paper throws light on the essence, structure, and major elements of professional activity of a multicultural teacher. It specifies main criteria of his formation, including a need of mastering cultures of different peoples; interethnic tolerance; empathetic attitude toward representatives of other nationalities; cross-cultural approach to professional activity; realization of the role of a teacher-integrator; involvement in dialogue of cultures; necessity to improve professional abilities to implement social functions as an organizer of intercultural dialogue.
