Polymer composites reinforced with natural fibers

The article discusses the possibilities of using natural fibers of various plants for reinforcing polymer composite materials. It was revealed that instead of composites reinforced with glass fibers, composites reinforced with natural fibers can be successfully used for interior decoration of cars (for example, door panels). Biodegradable and fire-resistant polymer composites using hemp, flax and soy are being developed for aviation, aerospace and automotive engineering. It is assumed that in the near future, natural polymers and fibers, as well as polymer composites with their use, will make up 15% of the weight of the car.
