Political fakes as a problem of modern journalism

Fakes are news or propaganda that mislead the public with false information for political, economic, market or psychological gratification and gain, including deliberate misinformation or hoaxes disseminated through traditional news media or online social networks. These falsehoods are usually spread by journalists receiving favors for their reporting, a practice known as checkbook journalism. These stories have increased the amount of fake or yellow news and often come back in the form of misinformation on social media, becoming a negative cycle. The relevance of the topic is in the increased importance and problem of delivering untruths through the media. Theoretical significance in the lack of research, and practical in the possibility of applying the results in practice.
