Import substitution policy as a factor of increasing Russia’s socio-economic security

This paper analyzes the impact of the import substitution policy on the socio-economic security of the Russian Federation. This issue is particularly relevant in the context of foreign economic pressure, as a result of which the domestic market needs to strengthen its own production to meet domestic demand and support export-oriented enterprises. The remarkable thing is that the Western sanctions imposed against Russia after the start of the special military operation in Ukraine, not only disrupted the logistics chains with key players in the world market, but also put Russia in front of the need to intensify innovation activities in terms of developing the necessary technologies that can replace the lost ones to ensure self-sufficiency of Russian enterprises, including export-oriented ones. The alternative to this is technology transfer. Conclusion dwells upon the fact that ensuring the socio-economic security of the Russian Federation requires the development of new strategies within the framework of import substitution policy.
