The article examines politically correct euphemisms as a means of reducing verbal aggression. Euphemism is a way of expressing a more politically correct form of a word in the English language, replacing rude or offensive words and expressions with a more neutral version. Political correctness is most often found at the lexical level. Based on this, politically correct euphemisms can serve as a means of reducing speech aggression, since they replace negatively colored words with more neutral ones. In the field of language, political correctness finds expression in the search for new neutral nominations, in order not to offend the feelings and dignity of the individual, not to infringe on her individual qualities by being straightforward about gender and race, health status, appearance, age and social status. The authors provide and analyze examples of politically correct euphemisms in English, French and German.
