Introduction. According to statistics, in recent years there has been an increase in the number of girls among the cadet staff, which leads to the actualization of the need to find methods of adaptation and organization of their professional training in a departmental university. In the process of a penitentiary employee formation, an officer, it is necessary to pay close attention to the development of professional value-semantic orientations that contribute to the formation of a professional, a competent specialist in the penal sphere under conditions of acquiring normative values: humanistic, ethnic, professional. The formation of value-semantic orientations and professional values directly depends on gender identity and belonging. The purpose of the research is to identify similarities and differences, professional value-semantic orientations in the space of universal human values, the meaningfulness of life and personal properties of male and female cadets of the Institute of Russian Federal Penitentiary Service.
