The article is devoted to the problem of providing assistance to parents of children studying at a children's music school in the aspect of their independent studies at home. The types and forms of interaction of a teacher-musician with the families of students on conducting joint eff ective homework of children and adults are revealed. The importance of home classes is proved and their role in children's musical education is emphasized
