«Understanding sight, illuminated by hope»: an essay on the philosophy of history

The author makes the first attempt to analyze the question of how social practices are reflected in different ways of dealing with history, as well as certain stereotypes of their perception. The article considers various variants of social and personal «relations» with history, which developed dramatically over the past years, it identifies the original criteria for their distinction. The reader is invited to consider the arguments in support of the author’s thoughts about understanding the history, allowed to regard the fundamental diversity of its interpretations.
