The paper reveals an understanding of the cultural development phenomenon of the individual from an existential-ontological approach through the prism of raising questions about self-determination and the authentic implementation of the individual as a subject of culture. The problem of non-genuineness and fragmentariness of the subject's self-perception of their own involvement in the process of cultural development has been pointed out because culture is understood as a complete anthropological universe, which includes a variety of external and internal forms of cultural realization of the personality on daily, reflective and metaphysical existential levels. It is shown that in the given context of consideration are significant the description of ways of authenticity of cultural development of personality, as well as rethinking of such concepts as realization, co-existence, accomplishment, experience of transition, which implement qualitative shifts in the ontological architectonics of the subject. Conclusion is drawn to the prospect of considering the nature and dynamics of the phenomenon under study as an experience of unfolding the ontology of the cultural accomplishment of the individual.
