The article is devoted to the problem related to the perception and interpretation of the concept “antiquity” by the priest Paul Florensky. His views on the relationship between “antiquity”, pre-Christian paganism and Christianity are analyzed. The main conclusion is that by “antiquity” Florensky meant, first of all, the installation in the worldview. Man is looking for a solid objective “fulcrum” in Being. At the same time, he feels that it is impossible to achieve this on his own. Man expects salvation from Above. From this point of view, Christianity for Florensky was a complete realization of “antiquity”.
