The purpose of the article is to clarify the logical structure of dogmatic formulations. The methodology of the research is the teaching of Russian religious philosophy about antinomy, in particular, the teaching of the priest Pavel Florensky. The problems of definition of antinomy, its purpose, understanding of truth as antinomy, epistemological status of the theological paradox are considered. Through antinomism, they are ἀσυγχύτως and ἀδιαιρέτως interpreted in the work as a way of expressing the unity of natures. The logical meaning of the concepts ἀσυγχύτως and ἀδιαιρέτως is not reduced to a contradiction (a contradiction would be joint unity and non-unity or separability and inseparability), however, the meaning of this word usage in dogmas is represented by the assertion of two truths that are in logical contradiction. This idea is substantiated by involving texts from the patristic heritage and modern Christian thinkers. The main conclusion refers to the presence of binary thinking in the doctrinal formulas of the Church and its ability to establish an equilibrium position, deviations from which are fraught with heretical errors. Designated in the article as an antinomic balance, this method, on the one hand, reveals the substantial complexity of dogmas, and on the other hand, gives a simple and stable scheme for the joint assertion of two truths that are in contradiction. At the same time, the contradiction persists only at the rational, formal-logical level, but at the level of the believing mind, antinomy finds reconciliation.
