Conceptual and Categorical Apparatus of the Study of the Problem of Formation of Information Literacy of a College Student

The importance of forming a personality in the conditions of secondary vocational education, who is aware of the essence of ongoing information processes, freely navigates in information fl ows, and has the skills to safely work with information, is substantiated. The concepts denoting the results of forming such a personality in dissertation research are highlighted: information and information-technological culture of a student; information competence (competency), information and computer readiness, information literacy, and others. The contradictions between the need to educate a responsible attitude to compliance with ethical and legal standards of information activities in students and the level of scientifi c understanding of the possibilities of forming their information literacy are revealed, the research problem is defi ned, and its problematic fi eld is outlined. Based on the analysis of scientifi c literature, working defi nitions are presented for the key concepts: “information literacy of a college student”, “blended learning”, “pedagogical design”. Conclusions are formulated about the absence of dissertation research on the issues of forming information literacy of college students by means of the subject “Computer Science”. Directions for further work are outlined.
