This article shows peculiarities of the modern developmental stage of education in Russia, points at the necessity to set goals for the teacher to accentuate his/her own professional activity. The author describes different types of portfolio, its impact for the teacher's profession and underlines the advantages of using portfolio for the subjects of the educational activity.
