Alexander Vikentievich Paklyar, ministering in the Russian-Estonian parish of the Northern Capital for 30 years and being its rector for more than half of this period. Fr. Alexander was also actively engaged in teaching and was the head of Theological and Pastoral Courses in the 1920s. He was arrested three times and, in the end, was shot in 1938. The article was written on the basis of archival documents.
