Proverbs and sayings when teaching Russian as a foreign language in medical university

The use of proverbs and sayings in the classes of the Russian language is considered. The relevance of the study is determined by the value-oriented aspect of the study of folk aphorisms in the structure of Russian lessons as a foreign as well as their use in teaching the language to foreign students. Didactic material based on proverbs and sayings is effective at all levels of training: when setting articulation, developing vocabulary, understanding the polysemy of Russian words, studying grammar. The inclusion of proverbs and sayings in the process of working on the fiction texts of medical orientation is effective, since they allow you to summarize the main idea of the work and understand the author’s intent. Acquaintance with proverbs as a center of values and aesthetic guidelines contributes to the development of communicative skills, forms an idea of Russian culture, its uniqueness, folk traditions and customs, peculiarities of the Russian character. Knowledge of proverbs, the ability to use them appropriately in different contexts indicates a high degree of communicative activity of a foreign student, makes his speech more natural and figurative.
