Бесплатный доступ

This article examines the actualization of the “New Middle Ages” concept in the modern Western and Russian humanities and journalism. The author analyzes neomedieval concepts of Z. Bauman, U. Beck and U. Eco and tries to evaluate how adequate it is to apply the term “neo-Middle ages” to the fixation of ongoing social changes and key characteristics of the postmodernity. The author proves that one of the most important features of the neo-Middle Ages format is the phenomenon of pan-mythologization of reality. The conclusion is made that the prerequisites for the development of the neo-Middle Ages project in modern times can be found in the unlimited development of the world market and the involvement of the entire world community into the postmodern reality driven by globalization.
