Postmodernism: pluralism of artistic and aesthetic principles

The article examines the issues of theoretical reflection on the term “postmodernism”, the authors present a wide range of ideas and opinions on the issues of postmodern art practice, the validity of experiments in art. The playful nature of the activity of aesthetic consciousness in relation to the works of postmodernism is highlighted as an essential moment of perception. The controversial issues that determine the nature of postmodern works, their attributive properties are indicated. The issues of transformation of Culture into post-culture and overcoming the narrow understanding of the terms “postmodern” and “postmodernism” are considered. The artistic and aesthetic principles of the phenomena of postmodernism are considered through the prism of the views of J. Baudrillard, J.-F. Lyotard, J. Deleuze, J. Derrida, V.V. Bychkova, J. Lipovetsky, M. Foucault, U. Eco. The level of comprehension of the processes of post-culture and the problems of perception of works of contemporary art is based, according to the authors, on the playful principle of understanding art forms as fundamental in the aesthetics of postmodernism.
