The importance of taking into account cultural differences between Russia and China when building intercultural education for students is substantiated. A definition of intercultural learning is provided. Examples of cultural differences are considered, the consideration of which is necessary to ensure productive communication in the process of intercultural learning. These are differences associated with addressing the interlocutor, the lack of equivalents for individual words and expressions in the dictionaries of the two peoples, the specific cultural connotation of numbers, cultural differences in the sphere of etiquette and social interaction, and the way of thinking of the two peoples. The conditions for the effectiveness of building intercultural learning for students are identified.
