Potential of the far eastern professional PR-community in the development of a civil society

Currently, the problem of the role and potential of professional communities in the development of a civil society is becoming more and more relevant. At the same time, the activities of such professional communities which functionality is directly related to building communications between all interested groups of the public: the government, the media, business structures, non-profit organizations, namely, communities of public relations specialists remain behind the scenes. The present study provides the analysis of the functions of professional PR community of the Far Eastern region and its potential in the development of a civil society. The results of an expert survey of public relations specialists in the Far Eastern Federal District made an empirical basis of the study. It is concluded that nowadays the self-organized PR community is ready to consolidate its functions related to solving decisions and conducting a dialogue between the key actors of a civil society, although this process needs coordination and resources.
