This article focuses on one of the topical problems of upbringing of harmoniously developed personality. The author examines evidence of the potential of folk dance, folk dance culture in the process of formation of the younger generation. Made theoretical analysis and historical review on this issue. Considered different psychological and pedagogical aspects of art education by means of choreography, analyzed the educational process from the point of view of formation of spiritual and moral values, which, in turn, affect the spiritual and moral culture and the harmonious development of personality. Analyzed the repertoire of children’s dance groups and the relationship of dance offer for the formation of values and qualities. Disclosed values of folk dancing art in the field of formation of harmoniously developed personality.
