The potential of thematic contests and Olympiads in the formation of spiritual and moral culture of students

The article presents the experience of implementing the innovative project «Origins» within the framework of the regional platform «Spiritual and moral culture of the peoples of Russia». Special attention is paid to the potential of thematic contests and Olympiads in the system of spiritual and moral education implemented within the framework of an innovative project. The characteristic of the most significant events is given, the content aspect of the formation of the spiritual and moral culture of students is actualized. The features of educational results, which are a three-level process, are determined. The transition from one level to another is realized through the formation of the foundations of Russian identity, the appropriation of basic national values, the development of moral self-awareness, the strengthening ofspiritual and socio-psychological health, a positive attitude to life, trust in people and society. The article also presents the results of psychological and pedagogical diagnostics and monitoring studies carried out as part of the implementation of an innovative project. In conclusion, the article formulates conclusions about the high potential of thematic contests and Olympiads in the process of forming the spiritual and moral culture of students. The materials of the scientific and applied article broadcast the experience of the regional platform for practical testing of an innovative solution involving the construction of a qualitatively new system of spiritual and moral education and upbringing, which is implemented by integrating the content of the subject area «Fundamentals of spiritual and moral culture of the peoples of Russia» into the content of primary general, basic general and secondary general education.
