«The potential» as a central category in Vasily Rozanov's philosophy

The author of the article considers «the potential» in the texts of Vasily rozanov as a structure forming principle and the central category of his onto-epistemological thought. The claim of the «categorical nature» of the potential is supported by the author’s analysis of the works and correspondence of rozanov, as well as by tracing how the problem of the potential and the actual was treated in the context of the history of philosophy. The term «category», as the article shows, is ambiguous, therefore, the author also provides a conceptual analysis of it. it is concluded that the concept of «category of the potential» is of high relevance in the context of onto-epistemological issues in Vasily Rozanov’s works.
