“A dreary story” by A.P. Chehov: the semantic and stylistic characteristics of the lexical unit “story”

The article deals with the analysis of the peculiarities of the stylistic functioning of the lexical unit “story” in accordance with the implemented lexical meanings of the polysemant in the story of A.P. Chehov. The authors reveal the place and role of the lexical unit “story” in the content of the text, it is used in its title that allows to analyze the ways of the representation of the semantic radius of the title in the story “A Dreary Story”.
