The article presents a sociological analysis of the impact of rurbanization processes on the everyday practices of rural women, as well as on their identity and migration strategies. Based on in-depth interviews, it is shown that transformations in the rural lifestyle are qualitative in nature and manifest in the formation of a «hybrid» way of life that combines features of both urban and rural worlds. Rurbanization is shown to shape consumption, leisure, and communication practices of women, blurring some of the differences between town and countryside while simultaneously reinforcing reflection on the specificity of rural life. The ambivalent effect of rurbanization on migration intentions is highlighted: on the one hand, it decreases the motivation to move to cities due to improved quality of life in rural areas; on the other hand, cities remain attractive for young and active women.
