The paper deals with the relevant problem of improving law enforcement officers' physical qualities by introducing modern teaching methods into the educational process. Theoretical analysis of impact method of sport training with jump exercises and a comparative parallel experiment were conducted to test the effectiveness of plyometric exercises in the process of training cadets and trainees at the educational organizations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. The experimental part of the study presents, as an example, complexes of physical exercises which, along with traditional exercises for the development of physical qualities, include exercises from plyometrics. The dynamics of indicators of physical proficiency (strength, speed endurance and speed) is clearly demonstrated. According to the results of the experiment, the positive effect of using plyometric exercises in the learning process among trainees, both male and female, is scientifically grounded. In the process of training the complexes can be exercised not only in specialized gyms, but also in «field» conditions, that is, in parks, forest, beach, yard, etc., without specialized simulators and special equipment. The outcomes of the research are manifested in practical conclusions. The introduction of modern techniques into the process of training the teams in the service-applied sports and the educational process of physical training facilitates the increase of physical and functional proficiency of cadets and trainees of the educational organizations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in a shorter period.
