The article discusses the need and focus of special strength training for athletes specializing in cycling, swimming and skiing. In the process of training, athletes cycle sports, and strive to increase the speed of overcoming the distance, which is impossible without a qualitative improvement of all types of fitness, especially physical. Competitive results of athletes, skiers and swimmers depend on many components: movement technique, speed of pace change and speed of overcoming distances, functional indicators. Therefore, the main task of the coach and the athlete is to select optimal methods for a qualitative increase in the effectiveness of these parameters. The key aspects of the development of athletes' strength abilities in cyclic sports are considered. The means and methods of strength-oriented physical training involving the main muscles involved in the movement of athletes have been systematized and optimized.
