The paper presents general ideas and tendencies of creative self-development of the person, reveales eatures of activity of the rural teacher, connected not only with specific social and economic conditions of countryside but with typical features of the rural child. The paper introduces a model of rural teachers’ improving of professional skills at qualification improvement courses. Within the framework of the model the teacher passes stages of functioning, development, creative self-development.
