Relevance. In the theory and methodology of physical culture, the term "throwing" is usually understood as a group of physical exercises related to single acyclic motor actions. Due to the peculiarities of the tasks solved when performing throwing, the properties of the tennis ball and the conditions of the school playground, organizational problems arise, leading to a decrease in the motor density of classes in primary school students. The low motor density of physical education lessons is a significant disadvantage. It is obvious that its low indicators negatively affect the quality of acquired skills. That is, there is a real problem, the relevance of which is obvious, as well as the need to solve it. The aim of the study was to substantiate the potential possibilities of increasing the motor density of physical education lessons for primary school students aimed at mastering the exercise - throwing a tennis ball, based on the rational use of the most effective teaching tools and methods. Research methods: study of educational and methodical literature and normative and instructional documentation; surveys, in various variations; pedagogical observation and testing; assessment of the density of classes; analysis and synthesis; statistical processing. Research results. It is established that the motor density of physical education lessons aimed at mastering tennis ball throwing has low values, but can be significantly increased by replacing the ball with objects with low flight properties. In this case, the total density of the lesson increases twice, and the motor density increases five times.
