The problems that take place in the process of development of the psychological and pedagogical competency of the technical universities teachers are analyzed. The promising ways of modernization of the content and methods of psychological and pedagogical training of the university staff are suggested. Some managing decisions in this process (splitting of the teachers into the groups on the principal of the subjects which they teach - the Humanities and Economics or technical ones; organization of the unassisted work, etc.) are suggested. The authors' conception of the ways of overcoming the psychological conflicts that can occur in the process of technical universities teachers' professional development, for example, the ways of counteracting the personal pedagogical protection, etc., is presented.
