Fire protection of the Tomsk region in 1953-1964: historical and legal analysis

The article examines the development of fire protection in a single Siberian region in the period of the 50-60s of the last century and its importance in the elimination of fires. The relevance of the research lies in the fact that currently no fundamental scientific papers on this topic have been prepared. During the writing of the scientific article, the principles of scientific research were applied: objectivity, comprehensiveness, historicism, etc. During the work, the activities of firefighters were studied, on a certain territory and in the declared chronological framework. The socialist state, during this period, took significant measures in the development and strengthening of fire protection, as an integral part of the entire Soviet law enforcement system. In the Soviet Union, one of the best fire-fighting systems in the world was organized, while the public was actively involved. However, the transformations that began in the early 1960s in the Soviet “power” bodies (reorganization, reductions) had a negative impact on the activities of fire departments.
