The author discloses the essence of cognitive activity and features of its implementation in the senior level of school education. Cognitive activity as the fact and the phenomenon is observed in process, system, value aspects. The relationship between cognitive activity, the structure of educational process and the overall structure of activity is identified. The author determines age features of high school students and describes the ways of increasing efficiency of implementation of cognitive activity in high school.
