Pragmatics of sports terminology in the English-language political discourse

The paper deals with pragmatic functioning of sports terminology in the English-language political discourse. It gives ground to the necessity of English-speaking countries’ political discourse research. The paper analyzes the basic methods of creating the pragmatic effect on a person who receives political information. The author draws the following conclusion: the use of sports terminology in political texts has a significant pragmatic potential.
