Практика использования фортификационных сооружений во Франции в эпоху раннего нового времени

В статье рассматриваются основные аспекты инструментализации античного, в частности римского наследия в практике создания единой системы укреплений французского королевства - Pre Carre в конце XVII столетия, что связано с деятельностью выдающегося военного инженера и мыслителя Себастьена де Вобана. Автор характеризует как основные положения самой концепции созданной французским маршалом, так и основные аспекты реализации «нового лимеса». Демонстрируются практика использования укреплений в качестве особого инструментария реализации «дипломатии силы», характерной для эпохи абсолютизма.
