The right to mental integrity of a person: definition of the concept in the context of international law regulation

The priority of human rights is now clear to the world community. At the same time, the vulnerability of a person, his life, health and the guarantee of rights and legal interests have been particularly noticeable in the conditions of the 2020 pandemic in society. The authors of the article provide arguments about the importance of influencing the vital activity of both an individual and society as a whole, the mental state of a person. Thus, the normative regulation at the international level of the right to the mental integrity of a person is being studied, certain provisions of national legal systems are given. The analysis of the terms and concepts that regulate the human right to mental health and well-being, as well as scientific approaches in the legal literature regarding the investigated legal relationship. In the conclusion of the article, a definition of the concept of "the right to mental integrity" is proposed and substantiated appropriateness of its consolidation by the norms of Russian law.
